Learn to Play > Lesson 8: Connecting Beats Together

What is a "Connecting Beat?"

A connecting beat is a fancy little beat that connects two main mrdanga beats together. Typically, a connecting beat is used when the kirtan leader is near the end of the Hare Krsna Mantra, and before the next Hare Krsna Mantra.

Basically, all it is is a fancy little beat that you just kind of "throw in" between mantras that makes the mrdanga sound a little more lively.

That's all there is to it. Playing them is another story! But hey! They're not hard either!
